Summer/Autumn Newsletter and Class List

 Summer/Autumn Newsletter

Happy New Year & Welcome to 2010 at the Boatshed.
As usual the year is kicking off quickly, school is back (for the time being) it’s a very short school term.  We are looking ahead until winter, & we also have some annual events held by us to put in your diaries.
Firstly, we thank all who participated in our 2 days of summer classes with our special Guest Tutor, Monica Poole. All the bags & quilts coming back look wonderful & a good time was had by all, the response has been great.

We are conducting an Apron Challenge to be displayed in April at the EGOS Craft display 28th April – 2nd May.  So we are looking for some ladies to make an Apron for this. (Of course your apron goes back to you.)  Our intention is to have an Apron Parade, as well, our first charity event for the year.  Contact us for more details, if you would like to participate.

Robyn & Lyn will be attending AQC in Melbourne for 4 days on the
29th April – 2 May 2010.  We look forward to seeing all the ladies who drop into our stand to say Hello.
We also attend the Quilt & Craft Fair from 22nd – 25th July 2010

TWO ANNUAL EVENTS

The Mystery Quilt ~ 2nd & 3rd October
Twilight Afternoon/Evening ~ Sat 11th December

Please register an interest in these, as we are filling places now.

Our next “SPECIAL GUEST TUTOR” this year is:
VIV RONINSON  of Viv’s Creations  15th & 16th May
This will be our first visit from Viv, & we are very excited to have her teach at the Boatshed.   Her designs are absolutely gorgeous & whimsical.  She is teaching one of her latest quilt designs,
“The Twelve days of Christmas”.  It is a combination of her signature  hand embroidery & raw edge machine appliqué & stitchery.  A delightful little BOM quilt, you will start your quilt & learn the techniques with Viv, then finish it off in the usual BOM form, to complete in 6 months.  All ready for Christmas.  Fabric Kits available.

Please register an interest as places will fill quickly.
